Syrian troops liberated part of the territory of the demilitarized zone in the Syrian province of Idlib, said TASS Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Vershinin.

however, the diplomat stressed that the task forces is to prevent terrorist attacks, not in getting to the border. “They reacted to the terrorists. If the terrorists bombed the second largest city in the country, perhaps this is the motivation of the government troops,” said Vershinin.

He also believes that negotiations of Russia with Turkey on the situation in Idlib must be continued. “The main thing is to avoid casualties among the civilian population and to continue an uncompromising fight against terrorists,” – said the Deputy Minister.

Earlier, the Russian su-24 HQs struck at militants in the area of de-escalation in Idlib, who broke through into Syria in the attack. They destroyed one tank, six BMP and five pickup trucks with heavy weapons of the militants.
