the PACE Committee on monitoring recommended to confirm the credentials of the Russian delegation in full, told RIA Novosti Vice-speaker of the state Duma Pyotr Tolstoy.

He named several surprising decision of the deputies of the Assembly to challenge the right of representatives of Russia because of the amendments to the Constitution and also rejected accusations that Russia does not intend to comply with international norms.

the ratification of authority to be discussed at the plenary meeting on Wednesday, January 29.

Russia was deprived of some rights in PACE after Crimea’s annexation in 2014. First, the Russian side suspended its participation in the meetings, and then froze payments to the budget of the organization.

in the Summer of 2019, the rights of Russians restored in full.

Earlier, first Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs Vladimir Jabbarov commented on the proposal of the delegate of Lithuania to challenge the authority of Russia in PACE.

He noted that there is hope for common sense members of the Assembly who do not go on about the Russophobes.
