Five former police officers delivered in the UK in the case of Golunova

Five former employees of the Department for control over drug trafficking of the internal Affairs Directorate of CJSC delivered in the RF IC in the case of journalist Ivan Golunova, RIA Novosti reported, citing the Investigative Committee. Now they are interrogated.

Previously, the Moscow city court refused to restore the service dismissed from the interior Ministry because of the case Golunova ex-Colonel Andrew Schirova. He was the head of the Department for control over drug trafficking in the Western district of Moscow. The court also rejected a similar claim of another police officer of the Novel Feofanova.

Ivan Golunova detained on June 6 in Moscow. Police said that during the search he found five packages with a powdery substance, and then the drugs found in the journalist’s home. A criminal case was initiated. Golunova was placed under house arrest.

Case Golunova has caused a wide public resonance. On 11 June, the prosecution was discontinued, and the charges were dropped because of lack of proof of participation of a journalist in the crime.

After the incident, Vladimir Putin has dismissed two generals of the police. The President at a press conference following the summit, the G20 called the arbitrariness of the situation with the case Golunova. According to him, the incident should be investigated, and then take appropriate decision on this matter.
