At the festival, “bookseller”, which takes place on Novy Arbat, everyone can buy vintage tutorial on ballroom dancing and other rare editions. Talk about books that were released in the XIX – early XX centuries, according to the organizing cycle urban street events “Moscow seasons”.

“Among the unusual publications that can be purchased at the Bookseller, the magazine of the Ministry of education in January 1848, self-instruction in ballroom dancing, 1902 edition, “Historical exhibition of architecture” in 1911, “the Grammar of the Shor language” of 1941, the Russian-Nenets dictionary of 1948 and many other old, rare and valuable books,” the message reads.

As noted in the organizing Committee, in total, the festival presented more than 45 thousand books and magazines.

“Another interesting document of the early Soviet era – “examination of the project of the Dnieper hydroelectric station,” – saw the light in 1926. Edition of 500 copies in sale did not arrive, and was sent for review to senior officials and professionals. At the festival “rare” visitors can see the new books and rare editions, meet writers, attend lectures, watch performances and take part in free creative workshops.

In each of the 14 pavilions will be presented from 3 to 5 thousand books. On the first day of the Metropolitan booksellers put up for sale more than 45 thousand new and used books in various fields.

Book festival will run until 6 December. Opening hours of festival: 11:00 to 21:00 on weekdays and from 11:00 to 22:00 on weekends and holidays. Master classes in “Chalet-libraries” will be held daily from 11:00 to 19:00.
