Almost 70 countries have supported the call for the cessation of hostilities around the world

UN Secretary-General, antónio Guterres, said that his call for an end to all the ongoing fighting has supported about 70 countries. About it reports TASS.

“the Appeal is supported by more and more countries, currently about 70, and regional partners, NGOs, civil society and UN messengers of peace,” said Guterres.

At the proposal of the UN Secretary-General responded, in particular, regions with a large number of armed conflicts – Colombia, Cameroon, South Sudan, Philippines and Ukraine. Despite this, while Guterres pointed to a specific difference between public statements and actual actions.

the Russian Federation was among the countries that supported the UN proposal.

Earlier, the Russian permanent mission to the UN expressed regret in connection with the locking of the Declaration of solidarity in the fight against coronavirus, initiated by Russia in collaboration with 28 States.
