Roskomnadzor warned about cases of distribution of fake letters to the operators of personal data

In Roskomnadzor warned about sending fake letters with the requirement of the personal data operators submit a notification of the processing, informs the Agency “Moscow” with reference to the press service of the Ministry.

in the letters contained false information. In particular, they argued that in case of failure of notification administrative liability with a maximum penalty of up to 300 thousand rubles.

the Department explained that the operators prior to the processing of personal data must notify Roskomnadzor. But, if the operator is subject to the exception stipulated by the provisions of paragraphs 1-9 of paragraph 2 of article 22 of the Federal law “On personal data”, notice may not be submitted.

in addition, administrative liability for failure notifications are set not by the provisions of article 13.11 of the administrative code and article 19.7 of the administrative code with a maximum penalty of 5 thousand rubles.

the Grounds for unscheduled inspections, which are also indicated in the letters, is regulated by RF government decree №146 “On approval of Rules of organization and implementation of the state control and supervision over personal data processing”.

In Roskomnadzor recalled that when receiving official letters from Roskomnadzor should pay close attention to the sender’s email address that ends in @rkn.gov.ru.
