Russia and the United States has suspended inspections under the new start Treaty

Russia and the United States suspended in connection with the pandemic coronavirus inspection activities under the Treaty on measures for the further reduction and limitation of strategic offensive arms. This was announced by the head of the American Association for arms control Daryl Kimball.

According to him, the inspections under the start Treaty (or start-III) will cease until the beginning of may. Kimball explained that Moscow and Washington had decided “to suspend inspections under New start Treaty before 1 may”.

Also due to the spread of the coronavirus Russian and American sides agreed to “postpone the session of the Bilateral consultative Commission (DCC), planned for March,” the expert added.
