The battle at the small station of Prokhorovka during the great Patriotic war was an example of the Grand tank battle in the history of war. The battle of Prokhorovka was the epitome of courage and heroism of Soviet soldiers. But the results of this battle still cause heated debate. In question raised a number of techniques and the scale of the operation, which version of separate historians have been exaggerated by Soviet propaganda.

On 1 December 1934 at the Smolny shot from a revolver, was killed the first Secretary of the Leningrad regional Committee of the CPSU (b), one of the most famous Soviet leaders Sergey Mironovich Kirov. Assassin was Leonid Nikolayev, a member of the party, at that time – the unemployed.

According to the official version, the death of Leonid Brezhnev was due to sudden cardiac arrest. Despite his poor state of health of the Secretary General, his unexpected death has caused a lot of misunderstandings. And no wonder: some of the circumstances of the departure of Brezhnev's life still seem, at least, strange.

Assessment of the work of SMERSH during the great Patriotic war the General population varies significantly, depending on political views and personal life experience. They go to extremes, claiming that counterintelligence was almost exclusively engaged in seeking out enemies where there are none, more exposing unjust repression of the innocent than catching the real spies. The truth, as always, is somewhere in the middle, but to tell reliably which of the extremes of this "middle" is closer — it's hard.
