Family and friends present

Little Richard (1932-2020) had an incredible presence on stage. Now the late rock 'n' roll legend has been buried on a small scale – probably because of the corona crisis. The musician was buried on Wednesday in the "Oakwood University Memorial Gardens" cemetery in Huntsville, as reported by the US gossip portal "TMZ" . Relatively few people can be seen in the pictures of the funeral, many wear protective masks.

According to the report, mainly family, friends and former music colleagues of the deceased said goodbye on site. Soprano Brandie Sutton, a niece of Richard, sang. On May 9, the musician's son, Danny Penniman, confirmed to the US music magazine "Rolling Stone" that his father had died at the age of 87.

Little Richard is considered one of the pioneers of rock 'n' roll. The musician's biggest hits include "Tutti Frutti" and "Long Tall Sally". The singer, songwriter and pianist has received countless awards in the past decades. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986.
