Johnny Galecki is an American actor who is best known for his role in the cult series “The Big Bang Theory”.
John “Johnny” Marc Galecki saw the light of day in Bree, Belgium, since his father Richard Galecki was stationed there as a soldier of the United States Air Forces. At the age of three, Galecki moved back to Chicago with his parents and two younger siblings. Already at the age of seven he showed great interest in acting and performed in the “Goodman Theater” in Chicago. At the age of ten, Galecki made his television debut with the mini-series “A Consecrated Murderer”.
In 1989, Galecki’s television and film career took off. He played the role of Russell Griswold in “Beautiful Christmas Presenting”, an American film comedy. His role in the television series “Man of Dreams” followed two years later. From 1992 to 1997, the American played the supporting role of David Healy in the well-known cult series “Roseanne”, which deals with the working class “Connor”. Since 2007 Galecki has played one of the main roles in the cult series “The Big Bang Theory”. He appeared on the side of Will Smith in the superhero film “Hancock”. In 2011, Galecki starred with well-known actors such as Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried and Olivia Wilde in the scienece fiction thriller “In Time – Your time is running out”. In 2017 he gave his revival in the popular series “Roseanne”, in which Galecki slipped into his old role.
For his series role in “Man of Dreams” from 1990 and in “Roseanne” (1994), Galecki won the “Young Artist Award” once. In 1993 and 1995 he was also nominated for this award. In addition to Christina Ricci, Johnny Galecki appeared in 1998 in the comedy “The Opposite of Sex”. In 2003 he was able to get a bigger role in the film comedy “Brookies”. The highlight of his career is the role of Dr. Leonard Hofstadter in “The Big Bang Theory”. The US series is broadcast in over 50 countries, currently it has 12 seasons. Galecki received an average fee of one million euros per episode. In 2011 Johnny Galecki was nominated for “The Big Bang Theory” with an “Emmy” and “Golden Globe Award”. Johnny Galecki has been a staunch vegetarian for years. From 2007 until the end of 2009, the actor was in a relationship with his “The Big Bang Theory” series colleague Kaley Cuoco. During this time, they kept their relationship secret and ended up parting amicably. Galecki was also at times in a partnership with his former colleague from “Roseanne”, Sara Gilbert.
