Kid’s Choice Awards 2022

US actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (48, “San Andreas”) received the evening’s first prize at the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards on Saturday evening (May 2), as the young man’s favorite film actor. The action star used his acceptance speech at the all-virtual award ceremony to encourage the children in the midst of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic – and thereby gave his buddy Kevin Hart (40, “Ride Along”) a humorous swipe.

“I want you to stay positive. I want you to stay happy. I want you to stay healthy, ”said the former wrestler. He also wishes that the kids went to bed “with a great feeling” because: “No matter how old you are, […] you are certain that you are still taller than Kevin Hart.”

US talk show host Ellen DeGeneres (62, “Finding Dorie”) also tried to cheer up her young fans with humor. The winner in the “Favorite TV Hostess” category pointed out that the children are probably missing their friends because they cannot go to school. “You probably miss your teachers because a real teacher has to be better than your mother in an old pajamas,” she joked, but also encouraged: “Although this is a very tough time, it won’t last forever.”

Another highlight of the virtual show, which was presented by Victoria Justice (27), was the awarding of the “Blimp” – as the Kid’s Choice Award is also called – in the “Favorite Film” category. In a video conference , some of the superheroes from the winning blockbuster “Avengers: Endgame” thanked the fans.
