Georg Kofler is an international entrepreneur and investor from the entertainment industry. He was the driving force behind some of the country’s largest media companies and is still considered an absolute top manager and expert in entertainment and marketing. Kofler became better known as an investor in the VOX program “Die Höhle der Löwen”, when he initially represented his business partner Judith Williams there and then took turns with her on a regular basis.
Georg Kofler was born in 1957 to a lumberjack and a factory worker in South Tyrol, Italy. His father died when Kofler was four years old, so he grew up as a half-orphan in simple circumstances. As a result, Kofler began working in a wide variety of areas while still at school. Among other things, he worked as a dishwasher in a hotel and as a ski instructor. After graduating from high school, Kofler began studying journalism and communication science, which he completed in 1983 with his doctorate. He then worked as assistant to the director at ORF and later at Leo Kirch. The path into the media industry was therefore recognized early on.
After his first steps in the media world, a steep and persistent rise began. Between 1988 and 2000, Kofler was the managing director and board member of the then new station Pro7, before moving to HSE and finally to the station Premiere in 2002. This was later to have a major impact on Kofler’s career and fortune. Kofler managed to turn Premiere into an almost overpowering group within a few years, which dominated the media world and finally went public in early 2005 with a record value of 14.5 billion euros.
Kofler was also able to sell a large part of its shares. He then sold the remaining shares in 2007, shortly before he left the company. With the sale of his shares, Kofler is said to have earned around 100 million euros and thus a large part of his assets. After leaving Premiere, Kofler devoted himself to his own ventures. For example, he founded an investment company for industrial companies, an energy company and, together with Judith Williams, GLOW media, which takes care of the marketing of Internet stars.

“We have always liked sleeping competitors.”
“We have been in a coma since the beginning of the year. A patient before the last oiling. The marketing budget was zero – but we’ve been back since August. ”
“The exaggerated use of Anglicisms among managers is such a small piece of sophistication, to put it more clearly: peacock wear. Incidentally, this is much more common in men than in women. ”
The quotations from Georg Kofler show very nicely what attitude Kofler represents in business but also in private. There are always difficult times that have to be overcome before going uphill again. But it must never be given up. It also becomes clear that Kofler makes no distinctions between men and women. Qualifications and skills are much more important to him than unnecessary power games. This is also shown again in his collaboration at GLOW Media with Judith Williams.
Even today Georg Kofler manages to keep his private life largely out of the public eye. It is only known that he is a triple father.
In addition, Kofler is also involved politically outside of business. He has been supporting the FDP and the CDU regularly with generous donations for several years.
In his free time, Kofler has always enjoyed sports. He is considered an excellent skier and likes to be out in nature.
