Short introduction

Lisa Marie Presley is a singer and the only daughter of Elvis Presley and his wife Priscilla Boulier Presley. She is also the ex-wife of Michael Jackson and Nicolas Cage. When her father died in August 1977, nine-year-old Lisa Marie became the heir to his estate with her grandfather Vernon Elvis Presley and great-grandmother Minnie Mae Hood Presley. After the death of Vernon in 1979 and Minnie Mae in 1980, she became the sole heiress and inherited Graceland. In 1993, on her 25th birthday, she inherited the property, which had grown to an estimated $ 100 million in value. In 2004, Lisa sold 85% of her father’s estate.

Early life

In the late 1970s she attended her first rock concert, after which she saw Queen at the Forum in Los Angeles. She gave Freddie Mercury a scarf from her father after the show. She studied at many educational institutions, mainly in boarding schools. She has been expelled from schools in Los Angeles several times for drug problems (especially cocaine). Lisa Marie was a student at the Scientology School in Los Angeles for a while. Lisa Marie and her mother Priscilla Bole Presley were introduced to John Travolta. Lisa started using drugs at the age of 13, but with the active help of the Church, she was freed from drug addiction at the age of 17. The career of the singer Lisa Marie began after meeting the famous actress, author and song singer Linda Thompson, who for some time was closely related to her father Elvis Presley.

Career

Marie released her debut album in April 2003 and called it To Whom It May Concern. The album Now What followed later. In 2002, she and businessman Neil Bush (brother of President George W. Bush) spoke out against the medical treatment of children with mental disorders at a US Congress hearing. The life story of her parents, birth and childhood until her father’s death in 1977 were described in her mother’s book Elvis And Me.

After Elvis Presley’s death at Graceland on August 16, 1977, his will appointed his father, Vernon Presley, as an executor and trustee. His fortune had shrunk to $ 5 million. The beneficiaries of the trust were Vernon, Elvis’ grandmother Minnie Mae Presley, and his nine-year-old daughter Lisa Marie Presley, whose inheritance was to be held in trust until her 25th birthday. After Vernon’s death in 1979, Elvis’ ex-wife Priscilla Presley was named in his will as one of three trustees. The others were the National Bank of Commerce at Memphis and Joseph Hanks, who had been the Presley’s accountant. With the death of Minnie Mae Presley in 1980, Presley became the only surviving beneficiary named in her father’s will. On her 25th birthday in 1993, Presley inherited her father’s estate, which had grown to an estimated $ 100 million thanks to her mother’s responsibility.

In 1998, Presley became more closely involved in the management of the Elvis Presley Trust and its Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. (EPE) business unit. She was the owner and chairwoman of the board of directors until February 2005, when she sold 85% of the shares in CKX, Inc., except for Graceland itself and the property therein.

Quotes

I can’t handle admiration well if it’s something I didn’t do.

I’m more of a tomboy than anything else.

People who have been in my life for a long time grew dark and tried to control me, and all sorts of strange things happened.
