Oli P is the son of police officer Reinhard Petszokat. Already at the tender age of ten, Oli P was enthusiastic about tournament dance and was soon able to record his first successes. His greatest success in tournament dancing was when he was 17 in 1995 as a member of the winning team for the youth team cup. At that time he danced for the Tanzsportverband Nordrhein-Westfalen e. V.
He was able to gain his first experience as a dancer at a very young age, which later proved to be very valuable as a singer or actor.
Oli P was born in Berlin on August 10, 1978 and grew up in Berlin. After gaining his first experience in tournament dance as a teenager, he first came into contact with drama in 1996 at the age of 18. He was mainly known for the soap operas shown by private broadcasters such as RTL 2 or RTL. It wasn’t long before Oli P became a much sought-after swarm of girls. Oli P married the actress Tatiana Katrantzi in 1999, from the marriage with Tatiana Oli P has a son. The relationship lasted until 2007 before the couple filed for divorce in 2009. Since then he has shared his life with his new partner Pauline Schubert and has been married to her since 2014.
Oli P recorded his first successes as an actor in soaps like All Together – each for himself. Later he became known to a broader (especially young audience) as Ricky Marquart in the series Gute Zeiten, Schlechte Zeiten, in which Oli P played for two years.
In 2002 he founded 23HeadZtorms GmbH. A year later he got the main role in the German-language movie Motown and in the same year he was a member of the jury of the casting show -The German voice-.
From 2004-2005, Oli P was co-moderator in Big Brother’s fifth season and was co-moderator in season six. During these years he was mainly seen as a presenter in shows and had little dedicated to acting. Among other things, he appeared in shows such as stars on ice or with pop stars and also gave a good picture as a moderator. Among other things, he also hosted programs such as the Gameshow Marathon with Oliver Pocher and many other programs with celebrities such as Charlotte Engelhardt or Katy Karrenbauer. During this time, Oli P also had many engagements at PRO 7.
In addition to Jeanette Biedermann, he played again on ProSieben in 2008 in the funny film Dörte’s Dancing. In the same year he also moderated the show “Singing Bee” on PRO 7, which was canceled due to poor ratings. Further programs such as celebrity dinners or tattoo attacks – stars sting to follow. Since 2019 he has also moderated a program on the ARD entitled Upcycling and from October 2019 he is on the road as a reporter on the WDR for the program Animal Search until the end of the year.
Oli P also played at the Dresden Theater in the Comedy Dresden for a few months. Already in the summer of 1997 he built up a music career parallel to his acting career. Thanks to some very good charter successes, he was able to further expand his popularity and also became very well known in the music scene. His first single was a cover version of the song Liebemachen in the original by the rap duo Vereinigte Arroganz. The second single Eivissa, which was recorded together with Paradise Love Squad, was at number 32 on the German charts and stayed in the charts for nine weeks.
In autumn 1998 the third single was released together with Tina Frank, a cover version of the hit “Airplanes in my Belly” in the original by Herbert Grönemeyer from 1984. This was also the big breakthrough for Oli P in the music business since the single was on It immediately took top positions in the German-language charts. Over 1.5 million units were sold in Germany. The first two studio albums sold 550,000 copies.
The greatest successes for Oli P were his leading roles in good times, bad times and in the German-language film Motown.
One of the greatest musical successes is the single “Airplanes in the Belly”, still the best-selling German-language single since 1975, for which he was awarded the Echo-Pop music prize. As well as his second number one hit, “So are you” with Naima.
